Byron Neslen Southwest Fine Art Photography

Infrared Portfolio

These images are from black and white infrared film. The film captures light in the 750nm or longer wavelength in the infrared spectrum of light. I use a 25 red filter when photographing with this film. See link below this paragraph for more information on infrared film. I prefer to shoot this film in the middle of the day because that is when there is the most infrared light. For the most part in the southwest the middle of the day is the worst time to shoot tradition photography because the lighting is so harsh. This allows the photographer to shoot all day and produce good images. There is a wide area of subjects that make interesting images so it is good to experiment with this film.
